Leeds – a transformative experience

As term two gets into full swing, current students will be phoning alumni and donors of the University to raise much needed funds. They do so to support the principle that all outstanding students should have the opportunity to make the most of their experience at Leeds, regardless of their background.
The Footsteps Fund team is made up of current students from a range of departments and includes scholarship recipients, society presidents and postgraduate students. The team are passionate about life at Leeds and enjoy engaging with those who graduated before them. The team are paid an hourly rate and receive extensive training.
To date the Footsteps Fund has raised over £6 million to fund projects which enhance the student experience at Leeds. Over 10,000 graduates and supporters have made a generous contribution over the phone when talking to a current student.
The majority of funds raised enable the University to offer scholarships to deserving students who might not have been able to take up their place at Leeds without this financial support. Take for example Liam Knight (Criminology 2020), to whom these generous donations have had a life-changing impact.
Your generous donations also enable the University to provide these students with academic and personal support, to put them on a level playing field with their peers. To find out more about the Footsteps Fund, click here.
The team love to keep in touch with Leeds alumni. If you would like to speak a current Leeds student, or do not wish to be called during this year’s Telephone Campaign, please let us know by emailing us at email@example.com.
