‘University transformed our lives’
September 4, 2014 | Simon Jenkins
Geoff and Jean Oatley met while studying at Leeds in the 1950s – and credit their years of study as being transformative, both in what they learned and the lifelong friendships which they forged.
In this video, filmed at their home in Buckinghamshire, they talk about their time at University and their lives since graduation – and why they choose now to support opportunities for young people of less privileged backgrounds and give some of our brightest undergraduate students the opportunity to take part in research.
Among projects which they support is the Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarships.
